REVIEWS:

This is an interesting CD, and I see our friends form NFT (No Front Teeth) have had a hand in it too. It is a similar design and format to the Eddie Haskells CD and their Dumpster Drivin track is included on this 16 track compilation. My fave track on this is ‘Killer on Craig’s List’ which is by the Texas Thieves (listen to and watch free stuff on http://www.texasthieves.com <http://www.texasthieves.com/> which is well worth a visit ) who are an old skool S.Cal band (I think they rubbed shoulders with MIA, Agent Orange, Social D. back in the day). This track really stood out a mile – and the vocal delivery is quite infectious. I read recently that ‘Craig’s List’ is a fast growing American company that sells and advertises all kind off stuff without doing any self promotion – so I assume the song is about this. There is a mixture of some previously unreleased material and stuff from well established labels like TKO and Dr Strange – and a couple of contributions via NFT – I am not sure about that ‘DJ Aids’ track by ‘Vinny Jack and the Stabs’. It sounds like a very tongue in cheek stab at homophobic prejudice. Coupled with good packaging and nice artwork this flux of compliments means that this equates to a damned solid release (7/00)"

- Blackpool Rox II - Issue 9 (Summer 2006) (Reviewed by Andy Higgins)

"I liked the first "How's My Driving" comp and am glad to see that this is apparently a continuing series. Volume two features another great collection of skate rock and street punk, mixing both classic and current bands. Standouts this time are China White, Crosstops and Clay Wheels."

-Punk Planet Magazine

"What a hot little album I hold in my hands right now. "How's My Driving?? Volume 2" is full of songs I'd be more than happy to play while driving (although I doubt that the bands on this album are the best drivers). In their song "Sex, Drugs & Alcohol", The Cliftons sing about wanting to get laid and get paid; while The Resistoleros' "Heroin" is about wanting heroin.
Honestly, people, how well can YOU drive while getting laid and wanting or being high on heroin? Probably not very well. Although I don't recommend carpooling with any of these bands, I do recommend you picking up the album and giving it a listen."

-Skratch Magazine

"Raw and energetic dirty skatepunk on one of the most promising California labels. Rock'n'Roll has never sounded this good. The obligatory "The" in the bands' names doesn't mean they all sound the same and are trend hoppers. Instead dedicated bands like Cliftons and Texas Thieves are the new hopes of a genre that won't allow Melody Care to be the new punk when you can do it 80's style and make it sound much better than anything that came before."

-Toilet Paper Zine (Germany)

"The editor of this great zine has been raving about this record label to me for a while now and obviously wants to show me what he's raving on about by asking me to review this compilation to get a taste of their wares. I can\ see where he gets excited over this stuff as this is cool and gives us 16 great dirty rock-n-roll driven punk rock from the likes of the Eddie Haseklls, China White, Texas Thieves, Malavista, Curbside and the Crosstops amongst others. This is the soundtrack to that long drive on a hot sunny afternoon you need to take and want some quality tunes for. Must get me some brothel creepers and a bowling style shirt me thinks."

Mass Movement Magazine (U.K.)

"16 cuts of punk rock fury! What can you expect from San Jose's SuperSpeedway Music! How's My Driving?? Vol. 2 features cuts from The Cliftons, The Eddie Haskells, Texas Thieves, Malavista, Curbside and The Faction among others. High energy, make you want to skate, drive fast, go big, and pull in deep with reckless abandon punk rock is what this record is all about. 2 minute, guitar and drum driven tracks round out the characteristics on this record and as a final parental advisory, don't get stuck in traffic with this in the player."

-NEXT Action Sports Magazine

"Super Speedway never, never disappoints with their releases, especially when it comes to the compilations they put out. Just like on Volume 1 of this series, you get a high dose of real gritty, dirty punk rock similar to all the great acts of old. I mean the music on here is raw and in your face, something that all of us need: rip roaring, twisted crusty punk rock! Seriously this disc is worth whatever the cost is! You get sixteen tracks from the best old schoolers in the business. The Cliftons - drug-fueled crazies, The Eddie Haskells - old schoolers with the old school attitude, Texas Thieves - hot rod-ers gone punk, The Lincolns - rowdy rockers setting you up for a beating, unreleased music from The Destroyed, and more... How can you possibly say no to that! Not sure which band will fit your tastes? Well sweetheart, they're all packaged nicely for you on here...get a taste and go buy every freaking album that's featured! You have my word that you will not be disappointed, in fact, you'll thank me!"

"Rather than cranking out the standard “label sampler” with two good songs and a bunch of filler, Super Speedway went the route of picking out 16 punk bands that can stand on their own. For instance, fourteen tracks into the mix, Fracas comes out with one of the best tracks, the Misfits-meets-metal powerhouse, “On Trial.”
However, it’s the variety of the music that keeps this collection fresh. The Cliftons rip through a fast one to open the comp followed by labelmates the Eddie Haskells, who take punk from the streets and add a little New York Dolls flair. Plus there’s some well-known stars of underground punk such as skatepunk legends the Faction, China White, the Forgotten, and local faves Curbside. The raunchiest sounding track is by far Vinny-Jack and the Jabbs’ “DJ Aids.” It’s sick. It’s dirty. It’s raw. It’s obnoxious. But it’s a reminder of what punk rock is all about, and that’s important to keep in mind. Fast and loud—no wimps allowed."

Yes, yes, yes the second killer installment in the How's My Driving?? Series from SuperSpeedway Music continuing from where volume 1 left off and left us begging. So get up off yer knees!! It's here!!! This time the line-up goes like this: THE CLIFTONS, THE EDDIE HASKELLS, CHINA WHITE, TEXAS THIEVES, THE LINCOLNS, VINNY-JACK AND THE JABBS, THE DESTROYED, MALAVISTA, THE RESISTOLEROS, CURBSIDE, CLAY WHEELS, THE FORGOTTEN, CROSSTOPS, FRACAS, THE FACTION and the BLACKLIST BRIGADE. What a fuckin line-up huh? Locals, newcomers, legends all rolled into one audio strike. The mix is perfect - its raw, its vulgar, its melodic - all the punk rock rudiments covered. So - how IS the driving? Well, it ran me down and then reversed over me again. This is some killer shit.
